Disability and Accommodation Specialist – PA Resident

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Serve as the subject matter expert in disability and accommodation within the enterprise, supporting the Strategic HR Partner and functioning as the Center of Excellence.

• Promote HR excellence throughout service lines in managing disability programs and accommodations.

• Analyze and summarize data to identify observations, trends, and gaps associated with disability and accommodation management.

• Engage with employees needing accommodations to ensure a smooth and timely transition back to work.

• Facilitate communication between employees and managers regarding complex disability-related accommodation needs or escalations.

• Collaborate with Workers' Compensation, Risk Management, and other relevant departments.

• Receive and assess accommodation requests under the Americans with Disabilities Act, guiding leaders and employees through the process.

• Investigate available accommodations and evaluate options as part of the interactive process.

• Draft and propose updates to company policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

• Maintain thorough and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests.

• Identify and develop transitional return-to-work programs and temporary modified job roles.

• Collaborate with supervisors to adjust workplace accommodations within return-to-work initiatives.

• Educate department heads on effective return-to-work programs and best practices.

• Mentor departments to explore return-to-work opportunities by suggesting potential modified job roles.

• Determine critical job functions that employees must perform with or without accommodations.

• Develop and provide organization-wide educational resources related to the subject matter.

• Stay informed on regulatory changes, interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations, codes, and standards.

• Recommend modifications to the work environment based on legal interpretations and professional best practices.

• Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field of Study (Required)

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience (Required)

• Strong analytical thinking skills

• Effective communication abilities

• Proficient computer literacy

• Group problem-solving skills

• Professional presentation skills

• Capability to interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, codes, and standards, including the Americans with Disabilities Act

• Familiarity with disability programs and accommodation management

• Awareness of existing and forthcoming regulatory changes

• Ability to work effectively in an office environment

• Residency in Pennsylvania
