
Director, Training – Business & Product Portfolio

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Lead and expand AVIXA’s training division.
• Oversee the daily strategy, roadmap, performance metrics, and operational priorities for the training business.
• Manage training revenue, profit margins, learner participation, adoption rates, certification impacts, perceived quality, and product lifecycle results.
• Make informed decisions on the roadmap and portfolio by utilizing customer insights, sales feedback, learner behavior, financial data, certification requirements, market opportunities, and team capabilities.
• Suggest pricing strategies, packaging options, bundles, value differentiation for members and non-members, product investments, localization opportunities, and product discontinuations.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration among Sales, Marketing, Membership, Customer Service, Expo, IT, regional offices, Finance, Live Content, curriculum development, technical subject matter experts, and learning systems.
• Maintain ongoing feedback mechanisms with major training clients and sales teams.
• Lead teams involved in curriculum development, technical SME support, learning delivery and innovation, product/project assistance, contractors, agencies, instructors, and cross-functional contributors.
• Represent the training division in internal discussions, customer interactions, and cross-functional meetings.
• Investigate scalable and innovative educational methods utilizing emerging AI development resources.
• Strong commercial acumen, P&L or revenue responsibility, portfolio management discipline, and executive communication skills.
• Proven ability to guide multiple teams and stakeholders towards effective business outcomes.
• Experience in owning or significantly influencing a revenue-generating education, content, certification, training, or product portfolio.
• Capability to leverage data, customer insights, financial indicators, and sales feedback for making product portfolio choices.
• Proficient in balancing learner value, brand integrity, profit margins, speed, resource availability, and executive expectations.
• Comfortable engaging in discussions with customers and executives.
• Ability to lead teams and stakeholders without necessitating direct reporting from every function.
• Adequate knowledge in learning and content development to assess quality, challenge assumptions, and manage scope effectively.
• Competence in collaborating with curriculum and technical experts without having to personally write curriculum.
• Understanding of viable, credible, marketable, scalable, and financially sustainable educational products.
• Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
