This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +6 more states.
• Oversee and execute daily and project-specific trade compliance tasks.
• Conduct and assess tariff classification, valuation, country-of-origin determinations, tariff mitigation, FTZ, duty drawback, and import compliance activities.
• Examine customs entries, trade data, commercial documents, broker information, and transactional records.
• Prepare and evaluate workpapers, calculations, reconciliations, reports, procedures, and client deliverables.
• Supervise and review the performance of Senior Trade Services Specialists, Consultants, and other team members.
• Manage assigned workstreams, focusing on priorities, deadlines, deliverables, service levels, and quality assurance.
• Collaborate directly with clients, customs brokers, logistics providers, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and escalate intricate, recurring, or high-risk compliance challenges.
• Assist in client implementations and managed services.
• Suggest enhancements to trade compliance procedures, controls, and processes.
• Conduct quality-control assessments.
• Aid engagement leadership with client communication, issue resolution, scope management, and recognizing additional client needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, international business, supply chain, economics, finance, or a related area, or equivalent experience.
• Over 8 years of practical experience in U.S. customs, trade compliance, import operations, or related international trade functions.
• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. customs regulations.
• Practical experience in tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, tariff mitigation, FTZs, duty drawback, or import operations.
• Experience in independently handling complex trade compliance tasks and overseeing or reviewing others’ contributions.
• Strong analytical, research, technical judgment, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills.
• Capability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, deadlines, and deliverables in a dynamic consulting setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship available.
• Preferred: Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or industry certifications such as CCS, CES, or similar.
• Preferred: Practical FTZ experience.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Section 301, Section 232, duty drawback, post-entry, customs broker entry review, trade data analysis, ERP/WMS, ACE, broker platforms, HTS/classification tools, managed services, procedure development, and coaching or supervisory experience.
