This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Design comprehensive end-to-end multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures centered on AWS modernization frameworks, reference patterns, and secure landing zones.
• Develop unique technical solutions spanning infrastructure, platform automation, containers, and managed services.
• Assess technical risks, create mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery standards.
• Integrate platform engineering, infrastructure as code automation, and FinOps cost optimization into solution architectures.
• Establish trusted relationships with CIOs, CTOs, and line-of-business executives.
• Facilitate architectural workshops, conduct in-depth reviews, and lead competitive solution defense sessions.
• Direct cloud solution strategies for US Federal and government projects.
• Manage direct face-to-face customer interactions, typically overseeing one to three major pursuits concurrently.
• Collaborate with Go-To-Market leaders and sales executives to qualify pursuits while maintaining margin integrity.
• Oversee RFP and RFI submissions, including technical narratives, solution scopes, and commitments on deliverables.
• Create cost cases, financial models, and Total Contract Value estimates.
• Assist in contract negotiations and deal structuring, ensuring a smooth transition to delivery teams.
• Lead matrixed pursuit teams comprising cloud architects, engineers, pricing specialists, and delivery consultants.
• Mentor and nurture the development of technical architecture talent.
• Collaborate with hyperscaler alliance teams and practice colleagues to create reusable architectural assets and enhance pursuit velocity.
• Over 15 years of experience in IT, cloud, infrastructure, or technology consulting.
• More than 10 years of experience in leading intricate solution design and pre-sales architecture efforts.
• Proven track record in developing multi-disciplinary cloud solutions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, hybrid cloud, private cloud, VMware, managed services, and cloud migration projects.
• Pre-sales technical solutioning experience in US Federal or government contracts and public sector regulatory frameworks.
• Experienced in supporting large-scale strategic client pursuits with direct executive and C-suite customer interactions.
• Proven leadership in managing matrixed pursuit teams of architects, consultants, engineers, pricing analysts, and delivery leaders.
• Extensive expertise in AWS cloud platform architecture, migration acceleration, and modernized workload patterns.
• In-depth knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud architecture, enterprise landing zones, cloud governance, cloud security, disaster recovery, resilience, and high-availability design.
• Proficient in Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, container platforms, and cloud orchestration.
• Advanced understanding of FinOps methodologies and cloud cost optimization strategies.
• Strong expertise in Cloud Security Posture Management, Identity and Access Management, data protection, encryption, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Solid background in leading RFP and RFI responses, deal shaping, business case development, financial modeling, and Total Contract Value estimation.
• Experience in evaluating solution risks, developing mitigation plans, and assisting with commercial contract negotiations up to signature.
• Skilled in mentoring and developing technical solution architects and engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Applicants may be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination when working at a client, customer, or partner location.
• Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, TOGAF, and ITIL Foundation or higher certifications.
• Preferred: experience with FedRAMP compliance, public sector procurement gates, and government security boundaries.
• Preferred: experience delivering bids valued at $10M+ in Total Contract Value.
