
Director, Strategy and Market Intelligence β Light Commercial Microenterprise

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
β’ Develop and oversee the market intelligence capabilities of the Light Commercial microenterprise.
β’ Evaluate market size, segment the verticals, analyze replacement cycles, track installed-base trends, and assess emerging technological changes within commercial buildings.
β’ Monitor competitor offerings, channel strategies, pricing models, speculative behaviors, and innovation pathways.
β’ Generate concise insights suitable for executives through dashboards, reports, and leadership presentations.
β’ Identify, quantify, and prioritize new commercial verticals, such as educational institutions, office spaces, retail, dining establishments, fitness centers, urgent care facilities, and medical offices.
β’ Analyze customer requirements, economic factors, decision-making processes, and channel pathways specific to each vertical.
β’ Maintain close contact with customers through site visits, voice of the customer (VOC) feedback, job site observations, and interviews with specifying engineers, mechanical contractors, representatives, distributors, and building owners.
β’ Convert customer insights into actionable recommendations regarding product strategy, pricing, promotional tactics, channel design, and market entry into new verticals.
β’ Manage the market and competitive aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI) business cases, particularly concerning new verticals and applications.
β’ Effectively communicate insights in a clear and persuasive manner through executive-ready briefings, dashboards, and narratives that translate analytical insights into actionable business guidance.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field, combined with substantial directly relevant experience; or equivalent experience.
β’ Over 10 years of pertinent experience in market intelligence, strategy, product marketing, commercial analytics, product management, or similar business analysis roles.
β’ Proven experience in deriving insights from market sizing, segmentation, forecasting, competitive intelligence, and customer research.
β’ Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional decisions across various areas, including Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
β’ Experience in supporting growth strategies, investment evaluations, or the development of new product/business cases.
β’ Preferred: Background in commercial HVAC, water heating, building products, building systems, or related industrial/commercial sectors.
β’ Preferred: Experience in researching or aiding go-to-market strategies across channels, specifiers, contractors, distributors, and building owners/operators.
β’ Preferred: An MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant business, technical, or analytical discipline.
β’ Preferred: Proficiency in utilizing market research, forecasting, dashboarding, or business intelligence tools.
β’ Up to 25% ongoing travel.
