Director, Software Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +33 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee software development and ensure high-quality outcomes for Navitus Health Solutions.

• Provide strategic leadership and guidance for software development teams transitioning legacy systems into modern, maintainable applications.

• Collaborate utilizing Agile methodologies to achieve exceptional customer experiences and timely, budget-conscious results.

• Emphasize execution, follow-through, accountability, and measurable outcomes.

• Promote leadership within the team, recruit new members, and offer mentorship for performance improvement.

• Work in partnership with Product Owners and leaders from Agile Delivery, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and the Enterprise Project Management Office.

• Build and maintain relationships with application business owners to deliver software that meets both internal and external customer requirements.

• Manage and develop managers responsible for software development initiatives.

• Create and sustain a results-driven department that consistently produces high-quality code.

• Keep abreast of contemporary software development technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, and adapt the software development strategy accordingly.

• Set and deliver KPIs and metrics for performance management and reporting.

• Communicate progress and status of development efforts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or another relevant technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience, is required.

• A minimum of 10 years of IT Management experience, including direct oversight of software development teams, is required.

• Proficient in modern technologies, architectures, and agile development practices.

• Experience with cloud-first development and microservice architectures or strategies.

• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools to enhance development efficiency and accuracy in delivery.

• Proficient in .NET, SQL, Angular, Oracle, and React.

• Experience with Jira and Azure DevOps.

• Proven experience in managing and implementing agile methodologies.

• Expertise in developing advanced automation testing frameworks and utilizing performance testing methodologies.

• Track record of delivering quality software that fulfills business requirements using agile methodologies.

• Participation and support in compliance programs.

• Ability to interact in a cooperative and respectful manner with colleagues.
