Director, SLED Solutions Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and mentor Senior Managers while creating pathways for Solutions Engineers to transition into management roles.

• Hold managers accountable for achieving segment outcomes and provide coaching on effective coaching strategies.

• Scale the organization while ensuring high standards in hiring and technical quality.

• Oversee the vertical operating rhythm, which includes conducting forecast reviews, making capacity decisions, and escalating technical resources as needed.

• Be responsible for technical wins across SLED and manage the Solutions Engineering-to-sales coverage model.

• Collaborate with the VP of SLED Sales on segmentation, territory design, and headcount planning.

• Represent SLED during forecast, planning, and executive reviews.

• Ensure quality in site assessments and verify deployment readiness.

• Maintain high standards for proofs of concept that are linked to active opportunities and demonstrable operational value.

• Guide CAD and dispatch, video and evidence management, streaming, BVLOS approvals, waivers, COAs, and docked operations.

• Maintain expertise in public-sector procurement pathways.

• Advocate for the customer to Product and Engineering by articulating prioritized requirements.

• Develop enablement content, reference architectures, and reusable technical assets.

• Keep hands-on product knowledge up to date.

• Report directly to the VP of Solutions Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of relevant technical experience, including roles that involve direct customer interaction.

• At least 2 years of experience in leadership roles overseeing other leaders.

• Experience managing managers or leading a team substantial enough to necessitate a second management layer.

• Proven history of building organizations through rapid growth, encompassing hiring, onboarding, and retaining a significant technical workforce.

• Strong knowledge of drone technology, Public Safety sUAS operations, and regulatory compliance.

• Familiarity with Drone as First Responder operational concepts and dock-based remote operations.

• Working knowledge of Public Safety technologies, including CAD, VMS, and associated software platforms.

• Capability to lead integration discussions effectively.

• Proficiency in coverage models, forecast discipline, deal strategy, and allocation of technical resources.

• Experience in state and local government procurement, cooperative contracts, grant-funded initiatives, and public sector purchasing cycles.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.

• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs without assistance.

• FAA Part 107 certification is strongly encouraged for all employees within the first 60 days and is mandatory for certain roles.
