This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee and monitor current and emerging energy market regulations and developments within PJM and the southeastern region.

• Develop and implement strategies aimed at influencing favorable energy regulations.

• Clarify existing PJM market rules while designing and executing market strategies, policies, and advocacy efforts.

• Actively engage in PJM stakeholder processes.

• Evaluate proposed market rules and craft company-specific recommendations.

• Foster alliances and strategic relationships with key stakeholders.

• Present energy market regulations and rules to internal team members.

• Collaborate with various departments, including Regulatory, Trading, Operations, Origination, Legal, Compliance, Development, and others.

• Participate in industry trade associations and stakeholder coalitions.

• Cultivate relationships with PJM staff, state regulators, state agencies, NGOs, and industry peers.

• Shape energy policy and regulation through networking and involvement with industry organizations.

• Support due diligence for M&A activities and commercial transactions.

• Oversee external consultants and lobbyists.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in wholesale markets regulation, including at least 5 years focused on PJM market and regulatory matters.

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related discipline.

• Master's degree is preferred.

• Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and negotiation abilities.

• High political awareness and comprehensive knowledge of power and environmental markets, particularly in PJM.

• Experience collaborating with trade associations, coalitions, external consultants, regulators, stakeholders, and industry advocacy groups.

• Proven ability to mediate differences and cultivate relationships and alliances.

• Background in project or case management and team collaboration.

• Capacity to identify and evaluate business risks and opportunities.

• Proficient in articulating complex PJM regulatory and market rules to both detailed and high-level external audiences.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Competence in managing external consultants and lobbyists.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in advocacy and western regional governance.

• Extensive network among energy regulatory, policy, and environmental stakeholders within PJM regions.

• Willingness to travel approximately 30%–50% based on location.
