This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver practical compliance guidance, services, and oversight to facilitate the launch of Stonehaven Specialty Insurance Company.
• Report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, with a secondary reporting line to the Chief Risk Officer for risk oversight.
• Collaborate closely with the Stonehaven Programs team and engage with Ledgebrook’s Legal, Regulatory and Compliance Department.
• Provide leadership and oversight concerning Stonehaven’s policy forms, notices, and related documentation.
• Engage in due diligence and evaluation of Program Administrator/Managing General Agent opportunities.
• Oversee the repository of third-party agreements and monitor associated compliance and regulatory obligations.
• Generate monthly status reports on compliance adequacy for stakeholders and prepare quarterly reports for board presentations.
• Manage and assist with necessary insurance licensing issues for Stonehaven.
• Collaborate on significant legal, regulatory, and compliance issues related to the enterprise.
• Monitor, mitigate, and address compliance risks throughout Stonehaven and the broader Ledgebrook organization.
• At least 7 years of experience in a compliance position, ideally within a (re)insurance company, insurance brokerage, or program administrator/managing general agent.
• Strong understanding of U.S. insurance laws and regulations relevant to surplus lines insurers.
• Experience with delegated authority underwriting, including fronting arrangements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• High standard of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
• Relevant professional designations, such as CCEP, are advantageous.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
