Director, Program Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Lead and enhance the Aldevron Business Unit Program Management team.

• Supervise all Program Managers and spearhead talent strategy, succession planning, capability development, and organizational efficiency.

• Provide strategic oversight for the client program portfolio.

• Establish and manage portfolio management processes, which include risk identification, escalation pathways, decision-making routines, resource prioritization, and cross-functional governance.

• Act as an executive point of contact for strategic clients across various programs.

• Engage in occasional client visits, business reviews, and escalation discussions.

• Collaborate with leaders from Commercial, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Technical departments.

• Ensure alignment on program execution, revenue generation, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.

• Promote continuous improvement and standardization through the Danaher Business System.

• Apply best practices, performance metrics, visual management, and scalable program management processes.

• Track and communicate portfolio health and business performance.

• Utilize data-driven insights to manage risk, enhance forecast accuracy, and support executive decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in Program Management, Project Management, Operations, Commercial Operations, or similar business leadership roles within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CDMO, life sciences, or highly regulated manufacturing sectors.

• More than 5 years of leadership experience managing managers and professional teams across geographically diverse organizations.

• Proven experience in managing complex customer portfolios, strategic accounts, or large-scale cross-functional programs with executive stakeholder engagement.

• Background in establishing governance frameworks, portfolio management systems, risk management processes, and business performance metrics.

• Experience in driving operational excellence initiatives with structured continuous improvement methodologies such as the Danaher Business System, Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable business systems.

• Experience leading cross-functional organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and organizational change.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally, including occasional overnight trips.

• Advanced degree such as an MBA, MS, or PhD in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.

• Experience leading Program Management teams within CDMO, biologics, genomic medicine, mRNA, cell therapy, gene therapy, or advanced therapeutics settings is preferred.

• PMP, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
