Director, Product & Technology Operations – Incident and Risk Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee operational frameworks for incident response, risk mitigation, and executive transparency.

• Implement a reliable incident management system throughout Product & Technology.

• Harmonize incident procedures and establish standards, roles, severity classifications, escalation protocols, communication strategies, and follow-up actions.

• Enhance post-incident practices and ensure action items are tracked to completion.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Security leaders on incident readiness, response, and operational fortitude.

• Fortify operations related to security incidents and vulnerability management.

• Provide visibility into critical vulnerabilities, remediation initiatives, exceptions, and necessary interventions.

• Develop a comprehensive perspective on technology and operational risks for senior executives.

• Work together on responsible AI, application and infrastructure security, digital supply chain security, identity and access management, Zero Trust, data protection, shadow IT/AI, compliance, and resilience.

• Convert complex risk data into actionable priorities, trade-offs, and strategies.

• Establish metrics and reporting for incidents, vulnerabilities, risks, and resilience.

• Prepare executive presentations for senior leadership, the CTO, and Board committees.

• Enhance communication with technical teams, business stakeholders, executives, and partners.

• Lead cross-functional projects with Engineering, Security, Product, Legal, and Compliance.

• Define responsibilities, set operating rhythms, and promote continuous improvement.

• Articulate the vision and operational framework for incident management and technology risk management.

• Cultivate capabilities, processes, and the team while taking a hands-on approach when needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in incident management, technology operations, security operations, risk programs, or a closely related role within a complex technology environment.

• Proven track record in designing or significantly enhancing incident management processes, standards, communications, reporting, and post-incident follow-ups across various teams.

• Practical expertise in security incident response and vulnerability management.

• Experience in generating incident, risk, or operations reports for senior leadership.

• Strong grasp of identifying, prioritizing, mitigating, tracking, and communicating technology and security risks.

• Background in leading cross-functional change and holding teams accountable without direct authority.

• Exceptional executive communication skills.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and establish sustainable operational frameworks.

• Sound judgment, composure under pressure, and the capacity to take action during critical or highly visible incidents.

• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to foster trusted relationships with Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, Compliance, and executive leadership teams.

• Proficiency in English as a working language is mandatory.
