Manager, Insurance Product and Benefit Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +14 more states.

📋 Description

• Design insurance plans, encompassing benefits, cost-sharing, and network arrangements.

• Convert strategic objectives and regulatory mandates into comprehensive, actionable benefit configurations.

• Ensure that plan designs are accurately represented in internal systems and regulatory submissions.

• Collaborate with actuarial, regulatory, and compliance teams to verify benefit frameworks and cost-sharing agreements.

• Assist throughout the product lifecycle from design to filing, implementation, and launch preparation.

• Maintain operational consistency during design and filing cycles, ensuring adherence to timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.

• Enhance process optimization and standardization across various markets.

• Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives within product design and filing procedures.

• Conduct quality assurance across plan designs, filings, and system setups.

• Recognize and raise any inconsistencies or risks in design and execution.

• Coordinate with partners to guarantee accurate plan delivery.

• Assist in market, competitive, and regulatory analysis to guide plan design choices.

• Track plan performance and pinpoint opportunities for enhancements post-launch.

• Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, economics, finance, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in health insurance products, ACA benefit design, regulatory submissions, or related fields.

• Operational experience adhering to standardized processes related to product development and regulatory filings.

• Capability to suggest process enhancements for scalability and optimization.

• Understanding of the ACA and small group plan design, including cost-sharing frameworks, metal tiers, and essential health benefits.

• Experience in supporting regulatory submissions and/or handling filing documentation (e.g., PBTs, SOBs, SBCs).

• Strong attention to detail with a track record of managing intricate benefit configurations across systems and documentation.

• Experience in cross-functional, matrixed environments.

• Ability to analyze data to support design and execution decisions.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Experience in configuring or assisting with plan builds in product systems.

• Familiarity with AV calculators, SBC calculators, and regulatory validation processes.

• Exposure to multi-state product environments and diverse regulatory requirements.

• Experience in supporting plan development, including quality assurance and market readiness.

• Previous experience in ACA or small group lines of business.

• Proficiency in SQL or data analysis tools.
