Director, Product Lifecycle – Field Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire post-production lifecycle of Galtra equipment, from factory release to shipment, installation, startup, commissioning, turnover, warranty, service, modification, and end-of-life support.

• Act as the sole point of accountability for Galtra equipment and maintain accurate records of installed equipment.

• Set and uphold standards for equipment serial numbers and asset identification.

• Monitor the status of manufacturing completion, release, shipping, delivery, receipt, installation, commissioning, warranty, service, modifications, and end-of-life.

• Manage the requirements and daily operations of the equipment lifecycle tracking system.

• Facilitate system implementation, configuration, and data migration into future ERP/EAM/CRM/field-service systems.

• Provide dashboards that display equipment status, startup, warranty, open issues, and service activities.

• Coordinate installation sequencing, site readiness, startup scheduling, commissioning activities, and resolution of deficiencies.

• Define warranty terms and conditions, manage warranty claims and RMAs, and oversee corrective actions.

• Develop field-service processes, coordinate with employees and authorized third-party providers, and monitor service until closure.

• Identify and coordinate spare parts, replacement components, field modifications, and changes to products.

• Track recurring failures, facilitate root-cause analysis, and drive corrective and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Establish customer equipment support processes and manage responses to lifecycle issues.

• Create lifecycle services and recurring lifecycle revenue offerings.

• Coordinate lifecycle responsibilities among manufacturers, service providers, suppliers, contractors, commissioning providers, and customer facility teams.

• Complete assigned tasks and deliverables within designated timelines and budgets.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with manufactured equipment, field service, commissioning, warranty, operations, or product lifecycle management.

• Proven experience managing complex equipment across multiple locations or projects.

• Strong organizational skills and process development capabilities.

• Ability to effectively coordinate among manufacturers, service providers, contractors, engineers, and customers.

• Solid understanding of documentation and configuration control processes.

• Capacity to identify technical, contractual, warranty, and commercial risks.

• Strong commitment to follow-through and the ability to hold both internal and external parties accountable.

• Comfortable working with asset management, ERP, CMMS, EAM, CRM, or field-service systems.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Preferred: experience in data centers or other mission-critical infrastructure.

• Preferred: familiarity with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, controls, or related equipment.

• Preferred: experience in startup and commissioning processes.

• Preferred: experience as an OEM or manufacturer's representative.

• Preferred: background in warranty and field service management.

• Preferred: expertise in product serialization and configuration management.

• Preferred: experience implementing lifecycle, ERP, EAM, CMMS, or field-service systems.

• Preferred: experience in managing third-party service organizations.

• Valid driver’s license and capability to rent vehicles.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including to any or all 50 US states.

• International travel may be necessary based on individual skills, training, and project requirements.
