Director, Payroll Analytics – Customer Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the formulation of a payroll analytics strategy, encompassing KPIs, dashboards, and predictive insights.

• Evaluate payroll trends, factors influencing variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.

• Deliver executive-level reports and insights to Finance, HR, and senior leadership.

• Convert payroll, timekeeping, and labor distribution data into actionable business decisions alongside cross-functional leaders.

• Utilize automation, data visualization tools, and AI-driven analytics to improve reporting.

• Supervise standardized payroll, timekeeping, and labor distribution reporting.

• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of data across payroll systems and reporting outputs.

• Develop and enforce data governance frameworks and reporting standards.

• Address requests for payroll, timekeeping, and labor distribution information related to collective bargaining agreement projects.

• Supply data, expertise, and technical support to bargaining teams.

• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Budget teams on the execution of multiple collective bargaining agreements.

• Handle union grievances associated with payroll and timekeeping.

• Oversee customer support operations for payroll, timekeeping, labor distribution, and payroll reporting.

• Define and track SLAs, KPIs, and customer satisfaction metrics.

• Implement best practices for case management, issue resolution, and escalation.

• Identify recurring issues and develop root-cause solutions.

• Promote process standardization, automation, optimization, and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and ITG teams on system enhancements, integrations, and upgrades.

• Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and OHSU policies.

• Lead strategic cross-functional initiatives related to payroll, timekeeping, labor distribution, and reporting.

• Build, lead, and nurture analytics, reporting, and customer support teams.

• Provide coaching, career development, and performance management.

• Manage relationships with vendors and outsourced service providers where applicable.

• Direct change management initiatives concerning payroll, timekeeping, labor distribution, and reporting systems and processes.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or HR from an accredited institution, or an additional 4 years of direct Payroll/HR experience may substitute for the degree requirement, or equivalent combinations of education and experience.

• A minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience in a Payroll/HR wage & hour multi-union environment and timekeeping systems.

• At least 5 years in a leadership or leadership-supporting capacity.

• Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.

• Extensive experience with compliance regarding collective bargaining agreements.

• In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations, as well as accounting principles related to Payroll, Timekeeping, and Labor Distribution.

• Proven track record in managing and developing high-performing teams, with authority over workforce changes, resource allocation, and cost optimization within a functional area.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• High level of attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
