This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Position Cogent as a key partner within the global Systemic Mastocytosis patient advocacy community.
• Forge strategic long-term alliances, enhance current collaborations, and discover new groups for engagement.
• Create, implement, and oversee the annual Patient Advocacy & Engagement strategic plan, encompassing commercial launches.
• Direct the external patient advocacy engagement strategy and execute strategic partnerships with patient advocacy organizations and medical associations.
• Design and implement patient-facing educational initiatives aimed at increasing program awareness, disease education, and access to care.
• Assist global, national, and local patient advocacy organizations through relationship building, networking, capacity enhancement, and sharing best practices.
• Facilitate virtual and in-person patient advisory boards and advocate for patient insights.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Patient Recruitment, Legal, Regulatory, and Research departments.
• Manage vendors, budgets, timelines, and deliverables for advocacy and engagement projects.
• Organize Cogent’s participation in patient meetings and awareness events.
• Represent Cogent at U.S. and international patient advocacy conferences, events, and scientific congresses.
• Establish metrics to assess the success of advocacy initiatives.
• Innovate and enhance Cogent’s approach to patient advocacy and engagement.
• Ensure cross-functional coordination, strategic planning, budget compliance, service quality, and creative solutions.
• A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• 8-12+ years of experience in patient advocacy, patient engagement, patient marketing, patient services, or related roles in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
• Profound knowledge of commercialization and R&D, including successful product launches.
• Proven ability to navigate regulatory and legal compliance associated with advocacy efforts.
• Experience in rare diseases, hematology, allergy/immunology, or oncology is preferred.
• Background in developing and executing patient-facing disease education and awareness resources and initiatives.
• Experience with patient digital health initiatives and campaigns is an advantage.
• Exceptional organizational, planning, and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong executive presence and effective communication skills.
• Capacity to make informed decisions and convey recommendations utilizing decision-support data and regulatory insights.
• Experience collaborating with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, within multidisciplinary teams, and with external partners and vendors.
• Willingness to travel to key U.S. and global congresses and patient events as required, up to 30% of the time.
• Position can be U.S. remote or based in Waltham, MA, or Boulder, CO.
