Director – OPEX

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the OpEx strategy throughout the Americas manufacturing network.

• Drive the deployment of Hoshin Kanri, converting enterprise priorities into actionable plans at the site level and integrating site outcomes into enterprise metrics.

• Serve as the connection between plant-level execution and VP/ELT strategy.

• Aid in optimizing S&OP and enhancing the end-to-end process.

• Establish and maintain a standardized lean operating rhythm, which includes tiered daily management, gemba routines, and leader standard work.

• Enhance the Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) systems.

• Implement a formal certification and capability-maturity model for sites linked to OpEx pillars.

• Direct Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping initiatives.

• Manage the productivity improvement funnel from pipeline generation and project prioritization to execution tracking and validated savings.

• Ensure a standard scorecard is maintained and reviewed monthly across all 14 sites.

• Collaborate with Finance to confirm savings and productivity enhancements.

• Conduct post-project audits to verify savings at 90 and 180 days.

• Mentor plant leaders in Lean methodologies.

• Develop and enhance Site OpEx Managers through capability standards, coaching cadence, and succession planning.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing.

• Experience with multi-site OpEx initiatives.

• Proven ability to establish or scale a standard operating rhythm across a multi-site network with diverse maturity levels.

• Track record of nurturing site-level leaders into more significant roles.

• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Hoshin Kanri, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, MDI, A3, and Root Cause Analysis.

• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification (Preferred).

• Experience in packaging or high-volume manufacturing (Preferred).

• Familiarity with S&OP processes (Preferred).

• MBA degree (Preferred).
