Director of US Payroll and Tax Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee and guide junior payroll personnel.

• Administer the complete payroll process for more than 15 states.

• Act as the ultimate point of escalation for intricate tax and system challenges.

• Direct withholding, filing, and reconciliation processes for over 15 states, including SUTA/FUTA, FICA, and local tax nexus.

• Function as the authority on ADP Workforce Now.

• Manage the registration of new state tax identification numbers.

• Oversee compliance with SUTA/FUTA/FICA across the entire US footprint.

• Lead responses to federal and state tax notifications, garnishments, and year-end W-2/W-3 reconciliations.

• Prepare C-suite reports pertaining to audits, 401k plans, and relevant trends.

• Transition payroll operations from manual methods to automated and scalable systems.

• Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in managing US payroll; multi-state expertise is essential.

• High level of proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Kronos/UKG.

• Advanced skills in Excel, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and Macros.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• CPP certification is advantageous.

• Exceptional English communication abilities.

• Willingness to work from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM PHST to match US Eastern/Central time zones.

• Successful completion of a background check, covering criminal history, previous employment, and education verification.
