Director of Payroll Operations – US Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee and guide junior payroll team members, fostering their professional development and ensuring precise output.

• Handle the complete payroll process for over 15 states.

• Act as the ultimate escalation point for intricate tax and system-related challenges.

• Direct withholding, filing, and reconciliation processes for more than 15 states, encompassing SUTA/FUTA, FICA, and local tax nexus.

• Function as the subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now, guaranteeing system integration and data accuracy.

• Lead the registration of new state tax IDs and oversee compliance for SUTA/FUTA/FICA.

• Address federal and state tax notifications, garnishments, and conduct year-end W-2/W-3 reconciliations.

• Present C-suite reports regarding audits, 401k, and emerging trends.

• Transition payroll operations from manual methods to automated, scalable processes.

• Execute additional responsibilities and projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in managing payroll across the US; multi-state experience is essential.

• High level of proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP WorkforceNow and Kronos/UKG.

• Advanced skills in Excel, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and Macros.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

• CPA or CPP certification is a considerable advantage.

• Exceptional English communication skills.

• Willingness to work from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM PHST to align with US Eastern/Central time zones.

• Successful completion of a background check, which includes criminal, prior employment, and education verification.
