This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and oversee software development teams for CHEMCAD, Flow Simulation, and GoldSim product lines.
• Establish and enhance development practices, including version control, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
• Own the internal AI adoption strategy for DESG and define the criteria for integrating AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
• Advocate for an AI-first, growth-oriented mindset while promoting experimentation and continuous learning.
• Drive quantifiable improvements in throughput, release cadence, and quality by utilizing engineering metrics.
• Collaborate with Product Management and R&D leadership to fulfill roadmap priorities and customer commitments.
• Define and spearhead the product AI strategy, focusing on identifying and delivering AI-enhanced capabilities across product families.
• Recognize technical debt and architectural risks, making informed decisions on remediation, refactoring, or re-platforming.
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineers, particularly helping team leads evolve into independent leaders.
• Maintain a high standard for hiring and actively participate in crucial interview processes.
• Cultivate a collaborative, engineering-focused culture.
• Own the long-term architectural vision for the platforms, emphasizing scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Establish engineering standards, onboarding processes, and integration playbooks for future acquisitions.
• Collaborate with other Datacor units to facilitate shared learning, tools, and process enhancement.
• Ensure technical communication and knowledge sharing among geographically diverse teams.
• Develop succession planning, internal mobility pathways, and future engineering leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 7 years of experience in software development, including more than 3 years in engineering management or technical leadership.
• Proven record of operating at a Director level, building team structures, engineering strategies, and roadmap direction.
• Demonstrated ability to improve legacy development environments and guide teams through modernization efforts.
• Strong grasp of contemporary software architecture principles, including modularization, service decomposition, and interface design.
• Familiarity with Microsoft-based ecosystems such as .NET, C++, and VB.NET, with the capability to engage in technical discussions across various stacks.
• Proven success in introducing or evolving Agile practices within teams that have limited historical processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills when working with Product and R&D partners.
• Experience in scaling engineering teams and delivering commercial desktop or simulation software is highly advantageous.
• Exposure to simulation or scientific modeling within the chemical or mechanical engineering sectors.
• Proficient with Git-based workflows, branching strategies, and DevOps automation.
• Familiarity with Jira, Notion, and Nave or other Agile metrics platforms.
• Experience in establishing engineering practices and playbooks across acquired products or teams.
• Experience managing remote teams, including international teams.
• Background in managing cross-functional or multidisciplinary engineering teams.
