Director of Sales – Northeast

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Lead the Distributor Sales team to achieve and surpass revenue objectives.

• Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development to Territory Managers and agency partners.

• Establish and enhance relationships with distributor partners and independent sales agencies.

• Create and deliver training programs for both new and existing products.

• Identify growth opportunities, increase market share, and strengthen relationships with key accounts.

• Analyze sales data and KPIs, offering actionable feedback and strategic modifications.

• Ensure Agency and Territory Managers meet or exceed their individual and team sales goals.

• Collaborate effectively with marketing, operations, and product teams.

• Generate and assess sales reports, monitor performance, identify trends, and offer actionable insights.

• Develop and execute data-driven strategies for sales growth.

• Review and authorize forecasting and pricing decisions while overseeing margin management.

• Formulate improvement plans to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Negotiate commercial terms and policies with customers and sales agencies.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.

• A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in sales or account management, ideally within the lighting industry.

• At least 5 years of leadership or management experience directing sales teams and/or sales agencies.

• Proven leadership skills with a strong emphasis on mentorship, coaching, and team development.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong analytical capabilities and strategic thinking skills.

• Demonstrated success in managing independent sales agencies and distributor partnerships.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.

• In-depth understanding of the lighting industry.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
