Director of Product Management

📋 Description

• Oversee the product strategy and implementation for Slingshot Aerospace’s main platform

• Develop and manage the roadmap for the core platform

• Balance the needs of customers with technical priorities, scalability, reliability, and business value

• Ensure the platform meets current product requirements and fosters future innovations

• Act as the product program leader for the core platform

• Facilitate coordination of cross-functional dependencies, planning for delivery, execution rhythms, and team alignment

• Propel prioritization and decision-making across functions

• Create repeatable processes for roadmap planning, product delivery, and platform development

• Lead and develop the Product Management team

• Mentor product managers on roadmap ownership, customer discovery, requirements definition, stakeholder alignment, and delivery discipline

• Establish methods for prioritization, product reviews, roadmap communication, and platform performance evaluations

• Collaborate with Research, Product Strategy & Innovation, Engineering, Design, and Leadership

• Convert technical trade-offs and platform investments into beneficial customer, business, and operational outcomes

• Deliver monthly updates on platform success, performance, delivery progress, and roadmap risks

⛳️ Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in product management, platform product management, product operations, technical program leadership, or similar leadership positions

• Proven track record of leading product teams and managing product managers within a technical product setting

• Successful experience in defining and executing platform roadmaps that consider customer value, technical scalability, reliability, and business priorities

• Strong execution capabilities, including managing cross-functional dependencies, development planning, delivery rhythms, and aligning stakeholders

• Exceptional communication and decision-making abilities

• Capability to influence engineering, design, research, leadership, and customer-facing teams

• Previous experience in a Senior Manager or Director-level position

• Must be eligible to obtain or maintain US Government Security Clearance; preference will be given to those with active TS Clearance

• Experience with B2B SaaS, data platforms, AI-enabled products, geospatial products, defense technology, or mission-critical software

• Experience serving as a product program leader or functioning in a hybrid product management and program execution role

• Familiar with platform architecture concepts, APIs, data pipelines, analytics, infrastructure, or enterprise-grade product functionalities

• Previous exposure to government, defense, intelligence, aerospace, or other highly regulated customer environments

• US-based candidates must live in one of the specified eligible U.S. states

• International candidates must reside in the United Kingdom
