Director of Procurement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the chief procurement leader, directly reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

• Manage Rula’s purchasing process from the initial request to the final contract renewal.

• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives.

• Negotiate intricate vendor contracts to secure fair pricing, clear terms, and robust service levels.

• Oversee and enhance the Zip procurement platform, focusing on intake routing, approval speed, and user experience.

• Keep abreast of new tools and employ AI and automation to boost procurement efficiency.

• Conduct spend analysis and develop financial models.

• Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure purchasing decisions align with the budget.

• Establish a proactive system for tracking renewals.

• Maintain a comprehensive, auditable record of vendor commitments.

• Work in partnership with Legal, Privacy, AI, Security, and Finance teams.

• Develop a clear, efficient, and supportive purchasing process across the company.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive procurement experience.

• At least 7 years focused on strategic sourcing.

• Proven history of hands-on sourcing execution and leading/managing procurement teams.

• Established experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts.

• Strong expertise in spend analysis and financial modeling.

• Experience in aligning purchasing decisions with company budget specifications.

• Highly analytical approach to evaluating procurement needs, assessing supplier performance, and providing data-driven recommendations.

• Excellent partnership abilities with Legal, Privacy, AI, Security, and Finance teams.

• Practical knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.

• Experience in creating clear and auditable tracking systems for contract renewals and obligations.

• Capable of managing multiple concurrent sourcing projects, vendor evaluations, and deadlines.

• Ability to establish clarity, structure, and priorities in dynamic or rapidly evolving environments.

• Familiarity with using or optimizing the Zip procurement intake platform (preferred).

• Previous experience in the healthcare or health-tech sector (preferred).

• Experience in transforming purchasing workflows into scalable, enterprise-grade capabilities (preferred).

• Ability to align procurement initiatives with organizational objectives, multi-year strategies, and financial models (preferred).

• Experience in driving user adoption of new processes or platforms (preferred).

• Must reside in the United States; Rula currently does not hire in Hawaii.
