This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Lead the Florida Business Unit Development Operations Team to support the annual Florida Fundraising Strategy.
• Collaborate with the Florida Director of Philanthropy to shape the vision for the Philanthropy Operations team.
• Manage donor engagement initiatives, coordinate events, oversee donor communications, handle major gift management, and philanthropy operations.
• Supervise gift processing, fundraising and financial reporting, event planning and trips, research, prospect management, donor stewardship, volunteer coordination, and pipeline development.
• Oversee the comprehensive campaign operations of the Business Unit, including the operating plan, timeline, deliverables, and fundraising goals.
• Design, develop, and implement development operations strategies and tactics.
• Establish measurable objectives and metrics, build donor/prospect pipelines, and ensure accountability for fundraisers.
• Supervise gift processing, prospect research, assignment of prospects, portfolio management, and support for major gift fundraising.
• Monitor fundraising progress and generate reports for senior leadership.
• Direct the annual department planning and goal-setting processes.
• Oversee event planning and staff, and create the annual events strategy.
• Work collaboratively with development and chapter leadership to promote alignment, teamwork, and an inclusive culture.
• Enhance team systems and tools, including AI, wealth screening, and communication platforms.
• Manage non-direct fundraising activities during comprehensive campaigns.
• Oversee staff training, professional development, expectations, objectives, budgets, projects, deadlines, and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, financial standards, as well as state and local regulations and legal requirements.
• Lead strategic initiatives and complex processes while collaborating with senior management, conservation staff, and financial/legal advisors.
• Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of related experience.
• Proven experience in planning and managing budgetary responsibilities.
• Experience in managing and supervising a multidisciplinary team.
• Background in developing, managing, and executing multiple projects and strategic objectives.
• Familiarity with navigating complex organizations.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams at various organizational levels.
• Relevant experience, coursework, or training in principles, practices, and procedures of the field.
• Valid driver’s license and adherence to TNC’s Auto Safety Program.
• Completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may involve reviewing the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.
• Willingness to travel frequently on short notice and work extended hours and weekends.
• Multi-lingual skills and experience in multi-cultural or cross-cultural contexts are valued.
• Experience managing a geographically dispersed team.
• Expert knowledge of current trends and evolving practices in the relevant discipline.
