This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Foster and enhance relationships that lead to transformative philanthropic contributions.
• Attract significant funding by aligning the interests and passions of high-capacity donors with opportunities that advance the mission of Christianity Today.
• Manage and nurture relationships with current major donors while identifying and engaging potential contributors.
• Oversee a strategic portfolio consisting of around 75 principal and major gift donors and prospects who contribute over $5K annually.
• Create customized donor engagement strategies to boost retention, elevate giving levels, and meet annual major gift revenue objectives.
• Collaborate with the Partner Engagement Manager and SVP of Mission Advancement to transition, qualify, and develop emerging major gift prospects.
• Formulate and implement individual giving targets along with stewardship and solicitation plans.
• Build and sustain a pipeline of major donors through networking, participation in CT events, prospect research, and database analysis.
• Collaborate with the President and SVP of Mission Advancement to establish relationship managers and cultivation strategies for qualified prospects.
• Involve the President’s Council and identify opportunities for relationship enhancement, philanthropic contributions, and leadership involvement.
• Keep accurate records of constituents and deliver monthly reporting.
• Work with leadership to boost philanthropic engagement from the Board, President’s Council, and other relevant groups.
• Assist in developing strategic plans, annual budgets, and communications for donors.
• Support the strategy for donor events.
• Stay updated on best practices in fundraising.
• Perform other job-related tasks as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Over 10 years of experience in fundraising and major gifts.
• Background in Christian nonprofit organizations.
• Expertise in strategic major donor cultivation and proposal writing.
• Demonstrated success in building donor relationships and personally soliciting and securing gifts ranging from $25K to over $100K.
• Proficient in managing complex relationships.
• Experience collaborating with senior-level executives.
• Knowledge of planned and asset giving.
• Capacity to independently develop a portfolio strategy.
• Ability to genuinely represent the ministry’s mission, vision, and values.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel approximately twice a month.
