Director of Packaging and Cellulose – Paper Technical Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of subject matter experts across various aspects of the paper-making process within Georgia-Pacific’s North American packaging and cellulose facilities.

• Implement the Principled Base Management (PBM®) philosophy.

• Construct and develop a results-oriented team of subject matter experts.

• Foster relationships with key personnel at the sites.

• Provide feedback to key leaders regarding site-level talent capabilities.

• Conduct process assessments and assist site teams in addressing gaps.

• Evaluate technology deficiencies and aid sites in developing strategic plans, including economic considerations.

• Assist sites with immediate problem resolution.

• Support the formulation and execution of investment strategies across packaging and cellulose sites.

• Utilize data analytics, remote process engineering teams, and site personnel to achieve and maintain results.

• Connect teams to business and asset performance trends, highlighting associated value to prioritize strategies and actions.

• Utilize available resources to ensure a positive work-life balance for the team.

• Cultivate knowledge networks among facility paper makers and external subject matter experts.

• Promote best practices and profitable standardization across the group.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing roles supporting paper-making operations.

• At least 10 years of experience in effectively leading, communicating with, and mentoring others in a manufacturing setting.

• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time, including occasional weekend and holiday travel.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, or a relevant Technical degree (preferred).

• Experience at the area or business unit management level (preferred).

• Proven track record of driving results across multiple sites and processes beyond paper (preferred).

• Experience in building and developing teams that achieve results across various areas or sites (preferred).
