Director of Nursing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Lead the operations of nursing departments across designated locations.

• Manage nursing work schedules and activities to fulfill patient care requirements, uphold productivity standards, and control overtime expenses.

• Implement and operationalize the centralized scheduling framework.

• Ensure that services align with company standards, federal and state regulations, accreditation criteria, and agency policy.

• Guarantee departmental adherence to established policies and procedures.

• Supervise the selection, development, and performance monitoring of nursing staff.

• Collaborate on the supervision and evaluation of nursing personnel and address nursing and allied health human resource matters.

• Ensure that nurses uphold professional nursing practice standards and adhere to supply formulary requirements.

• Assist Operations Leadership with departmental operational and expenditure budgeting.

• Coordinate patient services with pharmacy, delivery, reimbursement, and various internal and external departments.

• Establish and ensure the acquisition and prompt delivery of medical supplies and equipment within budget constraints.

• Assess, manage, and report on nursing operational and financial data; analyze trends and formulate process improvement strategies.

• Ensure the collection and organization of patient-specific information to evaluate suitability for home care services.

• Provide ongoing education on home care infusion topics, competency, and orientation programs.

• Oversee on-call processes for the nursing department.

• Facilitate clinical networking and serve as a clinical resource.

• Allocate approximately 90% of time to managing nursing operations and the remaining time to providing clinical patient care.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an active license in the current state of practice.

• At least 6 years of experience in home health/infusion care.

• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership nursing role within a home care environment.

• Proven experience with local, State, Federal, accrediting body, and OSHA regulations.

• Demonstrated proficiency in the clinical management of home infusion patients.

• Knowledgeable in patient management skills, including the nursing process.

• Familiarity with documentation and billing requirements for home health/infusion care goods and services.

• Skilled in time management to prioritize, organize, track details, and meet deadlines across multiple projects.

• Experience in training and developing clinical service processes, documentation, and user manuals.

• Proficient in planning, developing, and managing departmental budgets and expenses.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.

• California-based alternative: BSN or a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field with three years of recent experience, or a registered nurse with four years of recent experience, including one supervisory or administrative year.

• Willing to travel 25% of the time for business purposes, both in-state and out-of-state.

• Preferred: BSN with CRNI or another professional certification and advanced management training.

• Preferred: At least 4 years of experience in a home health/infusion setting.
