Director of FP&A

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee the annual budgeting process, long-term planning, quarterly forecasting, and monthly performance reporting for NSE and its subsidiaries.

• Create and sustain financial models that support community solar projects and corporate strategies.

• Assess business performance against established plans and offer actionable recommendations to enhance profitability and cash flow.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to convert operational performance into financial results and strategic initiatives.

• Act as the main finance business partner for Community Solar operations and customer acquisition teams.

• Evaluate subscriber acquisition costs, retention patterns, credit performance, project profitability, and portfolio economics.

• Track subscription levels, discount rates, customer churn, and collections performance metrics.

• Develop reporting frameworks for proactive management of community solar performance across various markets.

• Analyze strategic growth initiatives, pricing strategies, and operational investments.

• Direct the AI roadmap for FP&A and business finance operations.

• Identify and apply AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, and automation opportunities within finance processes.

• Implement AI-driven forecasts for revenue, cash flow, subscriber growth, and operating expense projections.

• Oversee the implementation or upgrade of commercial FP&A/CPM platforms, including gathering requirements, mapping chart of accounts, designing workflows, and conducting UAT.

• Automate regular reporting, variance analysis, KPI monitoring, and management dashboards.

• Establish a scalable data governance and analytics framework in partnership with Business Operations and business leaders.

• Assess and deploy finance technologies that enhance productivity and decision-making capabilities.

• Advocate for innovation and continuous improvement throughout the finance organization.

• Create executive-level dashboards and performance scorecards using Power BI and other business intelligence tools.

• Set standardized operational and financial KPIs.

• Analyze and report on business-unit segmented P&Ls, including revenue, gross margin, OpEx, and EBITDA, using GAAP and management/adjusted reporting perspectives.

• Provide actionable financial insights to senior leadership.

• Lead monthly business reviews with operational stakeholders and executive management.

• Develop variance analysis processes to identify business trends and facilitate rapid decision-making.

• Build, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing FP&A team.

• Encourage data-driven decision-making and promote collaboration across Finance, Community Solar, Asset Management, and Corporate Functions.
