Director of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the accounting and finance department while leading the international team.

• Take charge of hiring, employee development, performance evaluations, and succession planning.

• Establish frameworks, standards, and priorities across various regions and time zones.

• Manage comprehensive accounting functions, including accounts payable, payments, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closures.

• Create and uphold standardized financial controls across different jurisdictions.

• Navigate the complexities of country-specific tax, payment, and compliance regulations, including those specific to Quebec.

• Direct audits and ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory standards.

• Coordinate and address cross-border financial issues.

• Collaborate with the CFO and senior management on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

• Provide financial reports and analyses to leadership and the Board as necessary.

• Offer financial insights to facilitate commercial and strategic decision-making.

• Manage finance tools, systems, and workflows effectively.

• Drive automation and efficiency projects.

• Ensure the reliability, integration, and scalability of finance systems and data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in finance at a senior manager or director level, with responsibility for financial operations and controls.

• Proven leadership skills, including experience managing teams of managers or leads and establishing distributed teams.

• Familiarity with Quebec's financial, tax, and regulatory requirements, or significant prior experience in Quebec.

• Demonstrated ability to manage finance operations across multiple countries, currencies, and time zones.

• Strong technical finance acumen, combined with the capability to establish standards and scale processes.

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with the CFO and senior leadership and represent finance within the organization.
