Director of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and evaluate long-term financial performance in relation to the strategic plan.

• Convert financial insights into strategic guidance for hospital and system leadership.

• Spearhead intricate cross-departmental financial integration projects, which include post-acquisition service line reorganizations and margin enhancement initiatives.

• Implement performance frameworks, productivity models, and turnaround strategies across community hospitals.

• Guide multi-year strategic financial and capital planning efforts.

• Establish site-specific budget policy directives for department leaders.

• Ensure alignment of hospital-level capital strategies with system-wide requirements.

• Oversee the assessment of departmental and MD-level discharge volume forecasts for multi-year projections.

• Manage the monthly closing process alongside corporate accounting and system finance analytics.

• Interpret monthly results and their strategic implications for hospital leadership.

• Facilitate budget realignments and resolve financial disputes with clinical and operational executive chairs.

• Implement cost-containment strategies and formulate binding financial action plans.

• Set standards for financial reporting and labor productivity tools.

• Act as the senior financial representative of the hospital in executive committees and cross-functional discussions.

• Prepare supporting materials for system-wide decision-making processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with 7 to 9 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.

• Preferred majors include Business, Finance, or Accounting.

• Extensive knowledge of accounting, finance, and business administration.

• Familiarity with reimbursement processes, managed care, and budgeting.

• Experience in developing operating and capital budgets and forecasts, encompassing revenue, expenses, and volume projections.

• Knowledge of financial systems and related solutions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to think strategically.

• Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as organizational skills.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

• Understanding of GAAP, cost and grant accounting, budgeting, financial system architecture, internal controls, and compliance.

• A Master’s Degree is preferred.

• Familiarity with EPIC, Infor, and Strata is preferred.
