Director of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as the highest-level internal finance resource at Visual Matrix, overseeing the company's accounting and finance operations.

• Take charge of the monthly close process, general ledger management, financial reporting, billing, cash management, and ongoing accounting functions.

• Oversee budgeting and forecasting while keeping track of SaaS metrics and overall business performance.

• Provide timely and accurate financial reports to company leadership and the ASG team.

• Enhance financial controls, reporting procedures, and finance systems through the use of technology, automation, and AI-driven workflows as appropriate.

• Manage and coordinate outsourced accounting resources and collaborate with external partners.

• Collaborate with the CEO, company executives, and the broader ASG finance team on financial decision-making.

• Continuously refine and document finance processes.

• Evaluate current finance processes to determine how to optimize internal systems, outsourced resources, and the wider ASG finance ecosystem.

• Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant accounting and finance expertise, preferably in a B2B SaaS, software, or technology environment.

• Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles.

• Substantial experience in managing or leading month-end close and financial reporting activities.

• Proficient knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, and churn rates.

• Comfortable working as a hands-on individual contributor.

• Experience enhancing financial processes, systems, controls, or reporting in a lean or resource-limited setting.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information into clear, actionable insights for business leaders.

• A keen interest in technology and a willingness to explore how AI and automation can enhance finance workflows.

• A proactive and solution-focused approach.

• Humble, adaptable, resourceful, and enthusiastic about taking ownership.

• Available for remote work within the United States, with regular travel for executive leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, Board meetings, and company events.
