Director of Field Operations – Gas

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance and cultivate leadership by mentoring and overseeing construction management within a designated market segment or specific projects.

• Uphold best practices, utilize processes, ensure quality and safety, manage risks, and maintain the core values and beliefs of the company.

• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with clients, fostering an environment of mutual trust and respect.

• Take complete ownership of assigned clients by developing relationships that enhance the company's market position.

• Conduct regular meetings with clients to identify needs, measure success metrics, evaluate performance, and enhance the client’s business value.

• Supervise project managers and on-site personnel to oversee construction activities, ensuring that project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are met, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

• Spearhead the development of safety and quality initiatives and culture for project teams and ensure client safety and quality metrics are achieved.

• Manage project managers in handling receivables, budgets, cash flow, income/expenses, cost-to-complete assessments, cost management reports, and other related financial aspects.

• Mentor and develop junior project managers through performance reviews, coaching, mentoring, formal training, and exposure to diverse work experiences.

• Evaluate candidates for potential succession into Director of Construction roles.

• Collaborate with general superintendents, peer Directors of Construction, and other Directors on the selection of project managers and site teams.

• Oversee wage evaluations, work assignments, bonus assessments, and internal promotions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of five years of direct experience in utility-scale natural gas power generation, heavy industrial, or EPC field execution.

• Proven expertise in construction methods, estimating, construction management, financial oversight, design, and administrative functions.

• Demonstrated experience in leading multiple project teams concurrently.

• Strong grasp of construction engineering and design principles.

• Familiarity with electrical construction and power delivery systems.

• Ability to conceptualize and create detailed work plans and management schedules.

• Knowledge of estimating techniques and strategies.

• Understanding of construction contracts, regulations, and cost control practices.

• Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

• Strong leadership capabilities – adept at organizing, utilizing, and motivating team members swiftly to adapt to changes in the construction schedule.

• Conflict resolution skills are essential.

• Ability to strategically operate within the approved budget, conserve resources, and enhance profits and revenue.

• Excellent organizational, supervisory, and decision-making/problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office suite, Primavera, and CTC net).

• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are necessary.

• Willingness to travel regularly to various project sites to meet business needs.

• Direct construction experience with reciprocating engine power plants, modular/skidded aeroderivative turbine installations, modular simple-cycle gas plants, and fuel cell generation systems, including associated balance-of-plant, fuel gas systems, and interconnection scopes.

• Experience in construction covering combined-cycle (CCGT) gas power generation, larger-frame simple-cycle (OCGT) power generation, midstream oil and gas infrastructure, and heavy industrial construction.

• PMP Certification.
