This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the engineering strategy, design, reliability, and operation of essential infrastructure that supports AI data center campuses.
• Establish and direct the facilities engineering program across the portfolio for greenfield campuses, powered-shell projects, modular deployments, expansions, and selected retrofit initiatives.
• Create adaptable campus architecture, design standards, technical specifications, and design guidelines that cater to utility systems, various climates, site constraints, schedules, and customer needs.
• Act as the senior technical owner from site evaluation and diligence through to design, construction, commissioning, turnover, and initial operational readiness.
• Develop internal engineering capabilities and build external partner networks for concurrent project delivery.
• Provide strategic leadership for facilities operations across multiple AI Factories, ensuring continuous uptime and operational excellence.
• Plan and implement standardized infrastructure for new data center constructions, colocation expansions, and data center upgrades.
• Assemble and lead teams in electrical, mechanical, controls, and reliability engineering.
• Supervise electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, cooling systems, BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and fire protection systems.
• Design and enhance infrastructure for high-density GPU and liquid-cooled AI settings, including direct-to-chip cooling and racks with capacities up to 150 kW.
• Propel reliability engineering, predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, and asset lifecycle management.
• Provide technical oversight for construction, expansion, commissioning, and modernization endeavors.
• Enhance energy efficiency by optimizing PUE, WUE, and sustainability practices.
• Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and engineering best practices.
• Manage engineering budgets, technical vendors, consultants, and capital improvement initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, data centers, industrial, or power infrastructure.
• A minimum of 7 years leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems that support high-availability environments.
• Experience with hyperscale, AI, or HPC data center infrastructure.
• Familiarity with engineering design, commissioning, and reliability engineering practices.
• Preferred: Master's degree in engineering, Engineering Management, or MBA.
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Preferred: Industry certifications such as CEM, CDCP/CDCMP, PMP, or LEED AP.
