This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design and execute donor-focused major gifts strategies for the Bay Area and Northern California.

• Establish fundraising objectives and targets aimed at securing leadership contributions of $10,000 or more annually.

• Create persuasive cases for support that reflect Seneca's programs, initiatives, objectives, and financial requirements.

• Assist the CEO, Executive Director, Vice President of Development, leadership team, and board members with prospect research and donor meeting preparation materials.

• Recruit and establish the inaugural NorCal Leadership Board.

• Oversee board engagement, participation in fundraising efforts, and quarterly meetings.

• Employ moves management techniques to advance major-gift prospects from identification to solicitation and stewardship.

• Organize and implement donor cultivation, stewardship, celebration, and program-briefing events.

• Collaborate with program staff, board members, and organizational leadership.

• Prepare regular fundraising and regional activity reports for senior leadership and the board.

• Manage a portfolio of around 100 donors and prospects who have the potential to contribute $10,000 or more annually.

• Cultivate personalized relationships through outreach, site visits, donor meetings, proposals, and events.

• Identify current donors and new prospects with the capacity and willingness to make annual contributions of $10,000 or greater.

• Coordinate donor engagement, stewardship reports, and impact communications in collaboration with Development and enterprise colleagues.

• Document donor interactions, future engagement, and potential gift opportunities in Raisers Edge.

• Evaluate portfolio performance and track progress toward established goals.

• Assist in campaign planning and implementation, including goal setting and monitoring.

• Identify and nurture planned-giving prospects.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree or Bachelor's degree.

• At least 4 years of progressive experience in fundraising.

• Proven track record of successfully prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and securing donor gifts independently and collaboratively.

• Comprehensive knowledge of fundraising best practices, trends, and donor engagement strategies.

• Ability to work both independently and as a cooperative team member.

• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding donor information.

• Comply with the AFP Donor Bill of Rights and ethical fundraising standards.

• Must be at least 21 years old.

• Possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and be insurable through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy.

• Clearance from a TB test, fingerprint clearance, and any other state or federal licensing or certification requirements.

• Proficient in donor databases, specifically Raisers Edge, and the Microsoft Office suite.

• CFRE credential is preferred.

• Experience in fundraising for health and human services.

• Experience in building and managing high-performing teams, including hiring, supervising, and developing staff.

• Strong problem-solving skills and diplomatic communication abilities.

• Capacity to engage effectively with high-level partners across the progressive philanthropic landscape.

• Strategic mindset with the ability to align philanthropic aims with mission and outcomes.

• Skill in designing programmatic and campaign strategies to achieve ambitious fundraising targets.

• Availability for a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
