This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Propel revenue growth, ensure long-term sustainability, and oversee the daily execution of Foster America’s fundraising strategy.
• Convert the organizational revenue strategy into practical fundraising initiatives.
• Manage and expand a portfolio of institutional and individual donors and prospects through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
• Collaborate with the VP of Development & Strategic Partnerships on significant donor relationships that are principal and strategically important.
• Formulate fundraising strategies targeting foundations, corporate partners, government sources, and individual contributions.
• Identify and cultivate high-value institutional funding opportunities.
• Lead the development of persuasive, mission-driven proposals alongside the VP, program leaders, and organizational stakeholders.
• Supervise donor database systems, prospect tracking, revenue forecasting, and workflows for gift processing.
• Analyze donor data to assess trends, uncover opportunities, and refine fundraising strategies.
• Offer task prioritization, project-level guidance, and functional coaching to the Development & Communications Associate.
• Align daily development activities with departmental objectives and assist in tracking the development budget.
• Foster a culture of philanthropy organization-wide through cross-departmental collaboration.
• Mentor program leaders, executive leadership, and staff to communicate Foster America’s impact, identify storytelling opportunities, and engage with donors.
• Broaden philanthropic partnerships, enhance the donor pipeline, secure major donor commitments, achieve annual revenue targets, and maintain effective development systems.
• A minimum of 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit development, major gift fundraising, or institutional giving.
• Demonstrated success in contributing to fundraising initiatives totaling at least seven figures annually, including cultivating major individual donors and acquiring foundation grants.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, capable of translating complex concepts into clear, engaging donor communications and proposals.
• Strong project management capabilities, with the proficiency to handle multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
• Proven experience in guiding matrixed project teams, establishing departmental metrics, coaching colleagues, and fostering cross-functional alignment.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
