This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist organizations in building and demonstrating trust through ongoing security monitoring and verification.
• Establish the vision and design strategy for Vanta’s Risk product domain.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team of product designers.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Research, Content Design, Design Systems, and Go-to-Market teams.
• Convert intricate risk management workflows into user-friendly, scalable experiences.
• Define experiences for identifying, assessing, treating, monitoring, communicating, and reporting on risk.
• Create interconnected workflows across risks, assets, vendors, controls, tasks, frameworks, owners, approvals, and organizational hierarchies.
• Oversee enterprise-grade risk registers, dashboards, reporting experiences, and workflows.
• Lead customer-focused discovery and research with risk managers, security leaders, compliance professionals, and clients.
• Set a high standard for interaction design, visual design, information architecture, accessibility, content, and product quality.
• Influence product strategy and roadmap decisions through design perspectives, customer insights, prototypes, and narratives.
• Develop frameworks and processes that promote effective decision-making, speed, and consistency.
• Collaborate with Design Systems to enhance reusable patterns.
• Align cross-functional teams around a unified customer experience vision.
• Define and assess design impact through customer outcomes, product adoption, usability, efficiency, and business results.
• Shape responsible AI-driven risk management experiences.
• Represent Design in leadership dialogues, planning sessions, product reviews, and cross-functional forums.
• Contribute to the wider Design organization by sharing best practices and mentoring others.
• Over 10 years of experience in designing digital products, with substantial experience in leading product design for complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
• More than 4 years of experience in managing and developing product designers, encompassing hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
• Proven ability to set design direction for a product area and translate company strategy into clear team priorities and outcomes.
• History of designing intuitive workflows for complex, data-intensive, or highly configurable products.
• Strong product thinking and systems thinking abilities.
• Experience working closely with Product and Engineering leaders to shape strategy, prioritize investments, and deliver high-caliber products.
• In-depth understanding of customer-centered design practices, including qualitative research, journey mapping, prototyping, usability testing, and iterative product development.
• Proficient in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and storytelling, with a portfolio that showcases thoughtful and high-quality work.
• Experience in designing products within risk management, cybersecurity, compliance, GRC, IT, infrastructure, financial services, or another complex and regulated sector is advantageous.
• Familiarity with design systems and experience in creating scalable patterns.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information.
• Collaborative leadership style with a proven ability to build trust, support diverse perspectives, and unite teams around a common vision.
• Commitment to Vanta’s principles.
• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the necessity for current or future employer sponsorship.
• Responsible for safeguarding Vanta and customer data.
