This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Position Crawford Electric Supply as a top regional distributor of datacom, structured cabling, and low-voltage products.
• Build a dedicated go-to-market team.
• Establish crucial partnerships with key manufacturers.
• Devise inventory and product strategies.
• Attract talented individuals across major metropolitan areas within Crawford’s operational footprint.
• Hire and cultivate datacom sales associates in significant metro markets throughout Crawford’s 8-state region.
• Create training programs, sales processes, and performance metrics for the datacom division.
• Develop a scalable organizational framework to support long-term growth in this segment.
• Identify, pursue, and secure manufacturer authorizations and distribution agreements.
• Negotiate program terms, rebates, and co-op marketing support.
• Maintain relationships with key manufacturer partners and serve as Crawford’s representative at manufacturer events and business reviews.
• Design and implement a datacom inventory profile that aligns with regional demand, stocking strategies, and working capital objectives.
• Collaborate with purchasing and branch operations on SKU strategies, minimum/maximum levels, and distribution logistics.
• Assess product mix in relation to market trends and customer needs.
• Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy aimed at datacom contractors, low-voltage integrators, and end users.
• Foster relationships with contractors, integrators, engineers, and end-user accounts.
• Identify growth opportunities and prioritize expansion at the metro level.
• Work alongside branch managers and outside sales teams to integrate datacom offerings into existing customer accounts.
• Collaborate with marketing on positioning, promotional materials, and demand-generation initiatives.
• Report on segment performance, pipeline status, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in datacom, structured cabling, low voltage, or a related field in electrical/technology distribution.
• Proven success in building or scaling a business unit, sales team, or new product line.
• Strongly preferred: established relationships with datacom/low voltage manufacturers.
• Experience collaborating with contractors, integrators, and end users in the datacom/low voltage sector.
• Excellent negotiation skills with manufacturer and vendor partners.
• Demonstrated capability to recruit and develop sales teams across various markets.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout an 8-state territory.
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a relevant field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
