This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Develop, implement, and oversee multi-year strategies aimed at cultivating and soliciting corporate, foundation, and institutional prospects.
• Lead and shape a top-tier corporate and foundation fundraising team.
• Build and maintain relationships with both new and existing corporate and foundation donors and prospects.
• Manage a portfolio consisting of 30–50 corporate and foundation donors.
• Complete 90–110 moves and at least 15 letters of intent or proposals each year.
• Achieve an annual fundraising target of $5,000,000 or more.
• Enhance Florida’s institutional fundraising pipeline, gift solicitations, and overall fundraising efforts.
• Convert programmatic funding needs into appealing institutional opportunities.
• Increase unrestricted and flexible funding for Florida, regional, and global priorities.
• Oversee fundraising staff, including recruitment, retention, professional development, guidance, and challenging objectives.
• Establish and track individual and team fundraising metrics and objectives.
• Direct or participate in negotiations for complex, high-profile, or sensitive agreements.
• Ensure adherence to TNC policies, procedures, donor/legal/IRS requirements, and ethical standards.
• Set and achieve fundraising objectives, assess outcomes, and develop corrective actions.
• Lead collaborative, intricate projects while supervising staff, managing budgets, establishing deadlines, and ensuring accountability.
• Staff chapter leadership as a moves manager when appropriate.
• Manage designated trustee relationships and volunteer involvement.
• Utilize the Conservancy’s donor database.
• Provide stewardship through written reports, phone and in-person meetings, trips, and events.
• Travel frequently and on short notice; work long hours and weekends as required.
• A Bachelor’s degree along with 7 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in building and sustaining long-term relationships with major donors and corporations.
• Demonstrated ability to solicit and secure gifts of $75,000 or more, including planned gifts.
• Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
• Familiarity with fundraising principles and practices.
• Background, coursework, or other training in current and evolving trends in charitable giving, particularly in capital campaigns, major gifts, and planned giving.
• Capability to design and execute cultivation, solicitation, and recognition strategies.
• Skill in assessing individuals’ interests, capacity, and potential for supporting organizational goals.
• Ability to educate prospective and existing donors about suitable giving vehicles.
• Advanced knowledge of complex charitable gift planning.
• Proficient in using listening, diplomacy, and tact to forge relationships and motivate donors and volunteers.
• Ability to negotiate complex, high-profile, or sensitive agreements.
• Valid driver’s license and compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program.
