This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and take charge of Giga's commissioning program, which includes establishing standards, procedures, templates, and quality benchmarks for all active projects.
• Lead and mentor a team of Cx Leads and Managers, distributing portfolio responsibilities, and providing direct support for high-risk or complex projects.
• Manage commissioning scheduling and resources across multiple simultaneous data center constructions, collaborating with construction and project management to meet turnover milestones.
• Act as the main point of accountability to ownership and executive stakeholders regarding the commissioning status, risks, and readiness across the entire portfolio.
• Establish and uphold standards for commissioning plans, Functional Performance Tests (FPTs), and Integrated System Testing (IST) procedures in accordance with Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BOD).
• Oversee vendor and Cx subcontractor strategies, including selection, contracting, and performance evaluation.
• Create and maintain standards for tracking deficiencies and record-keeping for commissioning to ensure clean and auditable handoff packages.
• Report on commissioning progress, risks, and budget to executive leadership, translating field issues into decisions at the program level.
• Manage the commissioning budget and make decisions regarding resource allocation, tooling, and staffing.
• Over 10 years of experience in commissioning, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role for a team of Cx professionals across multiple concurrent projects.
• Proven experience in commissioning mission-critical facilities, including data centers or large-scale industrial projects at a program or portfolio level, rather than just individual project execution.
• A solid track record of establishing or significantly scaling a commissioning function, standard, or team from the ground up.
• Extensive knowledge of MEP and electrical systems—such as generators, UPS, switchgear, cooling infrastructures, and BMS/controls—sufficient to set standards and resolve technical disputes.
• Experience in managing commissioning budgets and vendor/subcontractor relationships across multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong history of presenting to and advising executive or ownership-level stakeholders on program risks and status.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting single-line electrical diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and control sequences of operation.
• Bonus: Direct experience in establishing the commissioning function at a hyperscale or colocation data center company.
• Bonus: Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), BCxA accreditation, or equivalent certification.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or commissioning-specific platforms (e.g., Cx Alloy, FACTSuite) at a program-administration level.
