This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Administer specialized diagnostic evaluations in Audiology, including Otoacoustic Emissions testing, cochlear implant assessments and mapping, and obtain ESRT and NRT measurements.

• Operate the Hearing Aid Dispensary and Cochlear Implant Center.

• Oversee budget management, CI program development, research, philanthropy, outreach, and marketing initiatives.

• Engage in habilitative and rehabilitative programs, which encompass hearing aid evaluations, dispensing and fitting aids, cochlear implant fittings, assistive-device management, and patient/family counseling.

• Supervise the operations of the Cochlear Implant Center, including protocol development, coding, billing, and the evaluation and management of cochlear implant recipients.

• Assess hearing function and identify the site of lesion using electroacoustic instrumentation and diagnostic audiometers.

• Integrate audiometric findings with other diagnostic data and provide recommendations for referrals and services.

• Oversee IRB studies, regulatory documentation, presentations, and publications; may act as principal investigator.

• Manage department operations, equipment calibration and maintenance, budget proposals, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

• Maintain comprehensive medical and administrative files, logs, and reports.

• Coordinate the efforts of Audiologists, Speech Pathologists, the Cochlear Implant Coordinator, and administrative staff, including performance management.

• Develop outreach initiatives, professional and patient education programs, community collaboration, referrals, marketing strategies, and remote care services.

• Assist with philanthropy and fundraising communications.

• Coordinate the Alstrom Clinic budget, educational programs, and international conference presentations.

• Deliver presentations on national and international platforms regarding research and cochlear implants, submit abstracts, and create presentations and articles.

• Travel for presentation opportunities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral Degree in Audiology.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Audiology, specifically related to cochlear implantation.

• In-depth knowledge of auditory disorders and both habilitative and rehabilitative measures.

• Comprehensive understanding of the equipment, techniques, and procedures necessary for assessing auditory abilities and disabilities.

• Extensive knowledge of Cochlear Implantation and Aural Rehabilitation, including billing, coding, and reimbursement processes.

• Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation of test results, and Cochlear Implantation candidacy criteria.

• Capability to apply audiology, OAE, and hearing aid fitting techniques and practices effectively.

• Advanced abilities in cochlear implant assessment and mapping, including obtaining ESRT and NRT measures.

• Management experience encompassing professional and support staff, budget and report oversight, marketing, and CI program development.

• Experience in research coordination and implementation.

• Proficient public speaking skills.

• Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities.

• Certification as an Audiologist from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or the American Academy of Audiology.

• Licensed in Audiology by the Maryland State Board of Examiners for Audiologists.
