Director of Business Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Oversee company KPIs, identify operational risks, and implement targeted interventions to address root causes.

• Develop, enhance, and automate scalable workflows, OKR cadences, and operational systems.

• Supervise the Operations Engineer and temporarily manage critical functions such as interim RevOps.

• Oversee operational contributors, remove obstacles to daily tasks, and establish clear execution standards.

• Drive high-priority strategic experiments, expansions, and internal turnarounds from inception to execution and handoff.

• Promote collaboration across Product, Sales, Engineering, and Finance to reduce friction and expedite decision-making.

• Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team on executive initiatives.

• Align company scorecards and facilitate core operating forums.

• Allocate approximately 60% of time to execution and 40% to team management.

• High agency, cross-functional judgment, and the ability to prioritize in ambiguous situations.

• Strong conscientiousness, attention to detail, and a commitment to flawless execution.

• Sound financial judgment with an understanding of unit economics and gross margins.

• Effective communication skills to align senior leaders without direct authority.

• Proven capability to dissect complex, ambiguous operational issues into root causes.

• Experience in designing metrics and operating cadences such as OKRs and WBRs/QBRs.

• Background in working alongside data/analytics engineers or tool stacks to establish a single source of truth.

• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional strategic projects from inception to stable handoff or taking on interim functional leadership roles.

• Previous experience as a founder, Chief of Staff, or operations lead in a scaling startup of 40–100 employees (preferred).

• Hands-on experience with modern analytics stacks such as SQL and Python (preferred).

• Prior experience in developer tools or an open-core business (preferred).
