This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Lead the creation and implementation of market access strategies for payers, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), guidelines, and scientific pathways across various therapeutic areas and decision-makers in access.
β’ Formulate and carry out strategies and tactics for medical affairs access and Healthcare Decision Makers (HCDM) across payer, distribution, IDN, and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) channels.
β’ Offer scientific and pharmacoeconomic expertise related to market access to cross-functional teams.
β’ Contribute to the development of global gap assessments and provide medical market access insights into Integrated Evidence Plans via Integrated Evidence Strategy Teams (IEST).
β’ Create strategic resources and deliver scientific and technical training.
β’ Spearhead the development of medical pharmacoeconomic materials, medical education programs, advisory sessions, and HCDM symposia with a focus on HCDM.
β’ Assist in the scientific review, development, implementation, and dissemination of medical affairs-sponsored or supported Real World Evidence (RWE) research activities.
β’ Identify and implement strategic initiatives with professional organizations focused on HCDM to improve the quality of healthcare delivery.
β’ Develop, manage, and secure necessary approvals for field materials, including slide presentations and FAQs for the Value & Access Market Operations and Strategy Leadership (MOSL) team.
β’ Direct the RWE plan in collaboration with Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) to align scientific and business strategies with Medical Affairs Evidence Gaps.
β’ Supervise the generation of high-quality, pertinent data and provide training for stakeholders.
β’ Formulate strategies for potential access and HCDM collaborative customer research in line with therapeutic-area objectives and AbbVie's goals.
β’ Stay informed about scientific, health economic, and payer policy advancements through conferences and medical literature.
β’ Represent AbbVie at industry conferences and events, discussing payer strategies and advocating for patient access.
β’ Act as the scientific liaison for regulatory, Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC), and Legal discussions.
β’ Assist in the development of Medical Affairs resources and provide training to Value & Access Field teams.
β’ Ensure adherence to corporate, divisional, legal, and regulatory standards.
β’ Advanced degree: PhD, PharmD, Physician Assistant (PA), or Nurse Practitioner (NP) is highly preferred.
β’ Generally, 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector or a related field.
β’ A strong understanding of managed care is essential.
β’ Experience in pharmacoeconomics is preferred.
β’ Proven management and leadership experience at the project level.
β’ Background in strategic initiatives and related issues.
β’ Demonstrated leadership capabilities in a cross-functional setting.
β’ International experience is advantageous.
β’ Experience in Eye Care or Neuroscience is preferred.
β’ Ability to interact effectively with external and internal stakeholders to support global business strategies.
β’ Capability to independently advance RWE studies or medical affairs-led research with minimal supervision.
β’ Knowledge of statistical methods.
β’ Familiarity with regulatory requirements governing RWE.
β’ Experience in the strategic development and design of RWE protocols.
β’ Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
β’ Operates mainly independently with limited guidance.
β’ Must adhere to relevant corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
β’ Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks and the healthcare landscape.
