Associate Medical Director – Occupational Health Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership in the medical field, offering consultations, clinical oversight, and specialized knowledge across WorkCare services.

• Conduct, support, or supervise clinical evaluations, medical reviews, consultations, and physician services via virtual, telephonic, onsite, or other approved delivery methods.

• Act as a medical escalation resource for complex, unusual, urgent, or high-risk clinical situations.

• Develop, review, approve, interpret, and endorse clinical protocols, policies, standing orders, workflows, documentation standards, and escalation pathways.

• Engage in quality assurance, peer review, case review, audits, incident review, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, professional standards, client needs, and WorkCare policies.

• Advocate for proper clinical documentation, confidentiality, privacy, ethical practices, and risk management.

• Collaborate with clinical, operational, business, and medical leadership teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

• Provide medical insights for program design, implementation, evaluation, enhancement, and addressing clinical or operational issues.

• Coordinate or consult with treating providers, specialists, healthcare organizations, and other authorized entities.

• Assist in client education, staff development, clinical training, proposals, presentations, and strategic initiatives.

• Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and timely documentation, reports, communications, and records.

• Uphold necessary licenses, certifications, credentials, continuing education, and professional competency.

• Help ensure adequate physician coverage, continuity, and transition of assigned responsibilities.

• Undertake additional physician, leadership, administrative, or program responsibilities within the scope of qualifications and practice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from a U.S. accredited institution.

• Current medical license(s) valid in the respective state.

• DEA registration.

• State-controlled substance certification if required.

• A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in occupational medicine.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Expertise in regulatory and compliance matters.
