This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the strategic planning process on an annual and quarterly basis for a portfolio of internal clients.
• Convert approved business objectives into comprehensive marketing strategies, programs, and campaigns.
• Create foundational marketing strategies for Tier 1 initiatives as well as for ministry program and product launches.
• Establish strategies for audience acquisition, messaging, channel engagement, and interaction.
• Formalize strategies through strategy and creative briefs aimed at both internal teams and external agency partners.
• Analyze partner needs, market trends, and audience insights to pinpoint strategic patterns and opportunities.
• Assess audience data, market intelligence, and research adequacy; identify gaps and communicate organizational requirements.
• Oversee the budget allocation for the portfolio between in-house execution and external vendors.
• Assist in developing planning frameworks, brief standards, and quality benchmarks for the marketing strategy function.
• Create program- and project-level strategy and creative briefs that outline audiences, messaging, channels, and success metrics.
• Ensure the strategic quality of portfolio deliverables prior to the Senior Director's review.
• Present and advocate for strategy and creative work to internal partners to gain approval.
• Direct and ensure quality control over execution across internal teams and external agency partners.
• Act as a strategic partner to ministry program leads, nurturing relationships and resolving conflicts.
• Track partner satisfaction and escalate systemic issues to the Senior Director.
• Formulate growth recommendations, including new fundraising opportunities, channels, and audiences.
• Manage communication regarding significant program changes.
• Supervise assigned Marketing Strategists through coaching, oversight, one-on-ones, and performance evaluations.
• Identify skill gaps and development opportunities, assist with onboarding, and strengthen team capabilities.
• Monitor team workload and capacity while upholding strategic quality.
• Undertake related responsibilities, including partner-facing Program Management, based on departmental needs.
• A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline is required; a master's degree is preferred.
• Over 15 years of experience in marketing strategy, product marketing, account management, or brand strategy, either in an external or in-house agency environment.
• Agency experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit marketing is preferred.
• Experience with fundraising campaigns is a plus.
• Familiarity with marketing analytics platforms, CRM systems, project management tools, and frameworks for Strategy and Creative Brief development.
• Proven track record in managing marketing budgets and directing internal teams and external agency partners.
• Demonstrated experience in managing people.
• A personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
• Identification with and involvement in a Christian church, with a commitment to growing in Christian faith.
• Active engagement in organizational prayer, devotional times, and organization-wide events.
• Exemplary Christian ethics, behavior, and conduct; adherence to ABS Standards of Conduct and Affirmation of Biblical Community.
• Christian maturity and the integration of faith into daily work.
• A desire and ability to support organizational biblical and religious objectives and participate in regular work-related spiritual activities.
• A passion for and belief in the Word of God, aligning with the American Bible Society's vision, mission, and values.
• Advanced capability to develop and present detailed marketing strategies, Creative Briefs, and campaign justifications.
• Proven ability to guide internal teams and external agency partners towards cohesive marketing results.
• Respect and understanding of diverse audiences and perspectives.
• Ability to comprehend internal partner objectives and craft mission-advancing marketing strategies.
• Capacity to adapt strategies to suit partner needs, market conditions, and organizational priorities.
• Proficiency in managing multiple partner relationships and concurrent strategic initiatives.
• Proactive problem-solving skills in a strategic context.
• Strategic leadership and accountability for agency-level quality.
• Capacity to make budget allocation and resource decisions across both internal and external delivery models.
• Ability to coach, provide feedback, and develop direct reports.
• Ability to assess marketing approaches, audience engagement strategies, and creative frameworks.
• Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk and work on a computer.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
