Director, Identity Governance, Workforce Protection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and enhance the security strategy for enterprise identity requirements and workforce access and protection services.

• Offer technical leadership and design direction throughout the organization.

• Establish long-term roadmaps for identity security processes and technologies.

• Ensure adherence to security and data protection standards.

• Manage a team of approximately 20 FTEs across identity governance, identity lifecycle management, security administration, and workforce identity protection teams.

• Supervise identity security and workforce protection solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs, compliance obligations, and security policies.

• Authorize and spearhead the implementation of identity security technologies and processes.

• Engage with vendor representatives and participate in security consultations during mergers and acquisitions.

• Maintain the organization’s identity security posture by regularly reviewing and updating technology and infrastructure.

• Provide technical oversight and guidance to identity security teams.

• Evaluate significant architectural and control changes for compliance with security requirements.

• Offer hands-on expertise in identity security, focusing on identity governance, Joiner-Mover-Leaver processes, access lifecycle automation, and workforce access support.

• Define and uphold technical requirements for policies, standards, procedures, and identity security controls.

• Provide strategic and technical oversight for integrations involving SailPoint, Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, and ServiceNow.

• Propel cross-functional roadmaps and stakeholder alignment for application onboarding, automation, ServiceNow/SailPoint integration, and future SailPoint SaaS migration.

• Ensure that operational services are efficient and responsive, including access-right changes, distribution list administration, and other identity-related requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Cybersecurity and/or information risk management.

• Strong understanding of identity and access management, identity governance, and security technologies.

• Proven leadership experience overseeing multiple technical or security teams and delivering enterprise-scale security services.

• In-depth knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, identity governance, access lifecycle management, and workforce identity protection.

• Experience with SailPoint or similar Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platforms; preference for SailPoint experience.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, authentication, and workforce identity security controls.

• Comprehension of security design principles and architectural concepts.

• Experience in developing and prioritizing security requirements based on the organization's risk appetite.

• Knowledge of relevant frameworks such as NIST, ITIL, or ISO 27001/27002.

• Experience with enterprise integrations and workflow automation; ServiceNow integration experience is preferred.

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

• Relevant identity/security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISSAP, ISSEP, or others (preferred).
