Data Governance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Establish governance controls and enhance the data catalog.

• Enhance data classification, data quality, access to data products, and data lineage.

• Keep detailed records of data owners and stewards.

• Discover opportunities to streamline governance processes.

• Implement automation to make governance more efficient, scalable, and user-friendly.

• Collaborate with data and AI engineers as well as business stakeholders to create effective governance solutions.

• Work alongside Governance, Risk & Compliance experts to enhance the end-to-end audit trail.

• Ensure that data-related processes are transparent and traceable.

• Oversee the data catalog and service desk.

• Assist teams in understanding governance requirements and implementing practical solutions that balance innovation with risk management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience managing and enriching data catalogs using platforms like Purview, Databricks, Collibra, or similar tools.

• Practical experience with Python and SQL is a significant advantage.

• Strong grasp of data governance principles and practices, including data quality, classification, lineage, access management, and data ownership.

• Awareness of relevant regulations and standards.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to work with structured data, identify process enhancements, and investigate automation possibilities.

• Comfortable working in a distributed team while balancing independence and collaboration.

• Capability to partner with technical experts and business stakeholders.
