This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for overseeing essential general accounting functions, financial close processes, and analytical projects within the Controller's Office.
• Provides strategic and operational oversight for month-end closing, capital and fixed asset accounting, prepaid expenses, non-payroll accruals, intercompany and shared services accounting, as well as post-award grant accounting.
• Collaborates closely with leadership, Technology Digital Solutions (TDS), and operational teams to enhance internal controls, promote process improvements, and cultivate scalable reporting and analytical capabilities.
• Drives innovation in general accounting by identifying, implementing, and optimizing analytics, automation, AI, and business intelligence tools that enhance close efficiency, reporting accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
• Assists with annual financial statement audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules, provision of supporting documents, and addressing audit inquiries.
• Addresses accounting and reporting concerns promptly, thoughtfully, and with a customer-centric approach.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience, including prior management responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal control mechanisms.
• Capability to lead operational accounting functions while promoting strategic process enhancements and analytical initiatives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform tools, such as Power BI, Power Automate, and associated analytics technologies.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence tools, automation technologies, and large language models (LLMs), particularly their applications in finance and accounting operations.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
• Prior experience with ERP systems and healthcare information systems, particularly Epic and Workday, is preferred.
