
Director, Financial Aid Software Sales – Engagement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and implement strategies for territory and account management to foster new business and increase the use of College Board financial aid solutions.
• Cultivate strong relationships with key figures in financial aid, enrollment management, finance, technology, and executive leadership.
• Oversee consultative sales processes from initial prospecting to contract signing, which includes discovery, product demonstrations, proposals, negotiation, and closing deals.
• Perform both virtual and face-to-face product demonstrations and consultations.
• Enhance existing customer relationships through cross-selling, expanding portfolios, and forming strategic partnerships.
• Act as a representative for College Board at conferences, professional association gatherings, and customer events.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Financial Aid Programs & Services on focused outreach initiatives.
• Create territory plans, prioritize sales opportunities, and uphold sales forecasts.
• Manage the sales pipeline, forecasting, opportunity tracking, and ensure data integrity in Salesforce.
• Implement customer outreach strategies to promote engagement and retention.
• Identify risks related to cancellations or reduced engagement and propose strategies for mitigation.
• Assist in renewal planning and uncover opportunities for portfolio expansion.
• Evaluate customer feedback, monitor competitive activities, and analyze market trends.
• Maintain a high level of expertise in College Board financial aid solutions and the landscape of higher education financial aid technology.
• Report to the Executive Director of Financial Aid Engagement and Services.
• Travel approximately 4–6 times per year for customer meetings, conferences, and College Board events.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education, financial aid, enrollment management, education technology, SaaS, or consultative software sales.
• Proven track record in developing sales strategies and achieving revenue or business development objectives.
• Experience in building relationships with senior institutional leaders and managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of financial aid administration in higher education, enrollment management, student success, or similar institutional operations.
• Preferred experience in presenting software or technology solutions to both executive and technical stakeholders.
• Ability to comprehend customer needs and convert them into consultative solution proposals.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms, ideally Salesforce.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent skills in written communication, verbal communication, and presentations.
• Capability to independently manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across diverse teams.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
