Director, Finance Systems Strategy – Optimization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prioritize and execute technical solutions in Workday Financials to address business requirements

• Convert functional requirements into scalable, repeatable, automated, and AI-enabled Workday Financials solutions

• Oversee the implementation of new features and enhancements, covering configuration, testing, deployment, and change management

• Engage and supervise external consultants as necessary

• Manage the intake and prioritization of product and systems requests

• Take ownership of business process improvements for Workday Financials modules

• Develop and track key performance metrics while identifying areas for enhancement

• Analyze, pinpoint, and rectify technical issues and deficiencies

• Optimize Workday Financials and Adaptive instances and facilitate bi-annual Workday releases

• Act as a liaison with the Workday account manager and partner with Technology for integration and administration

• Create and uphold system documentation and user guides

• Develop reporting and data solutions within Workday Financials, Adaptive, Strategic Sourcing, Tableau, and/or PowerBI

• Design and implement Workday Financials dashboards for Procurement, Accounting, and Investments

• Develop and maintain finance product roadmaps in collaboration with Finance leadership, SMEs, and Technology

• Provide status reports and updates to leadership

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five to eight years of experience in finance operations

• At least three years of experience specifically in Workday Financials

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required

• Proficiency in Financial Accounting, Procurement, and Expense modules within Workday Financials

• Proficiency with Adaptive Financial Planning and Strategic Sourcing

• Proficiency in Workday Worksheets and Discovery Boards

• Ideally, experience with Workday Prism

• Working knowledge of Tableau and/or PowerBI

• Ability to quickly pivot, adapt to changing requirements, and work in an Agile-adjacent environment

• Exceptional attention to detail alongside strong organizational skills

• Passion for data and the capability to convert large datasets into actionable business insights

• Ability to collaborate across different functions

• Skill in translating practical user needs into technical solutions

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Enthusiasm for supporting educational opportunities for millions of students

• Experience with Jira and Confluence is preferred

• Willingness to travel 2–3 times a year to College Board offices or on behalf of College Board business
