This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Manage a portfolio of multiple client relationships as the primary point of accountability.
• Convert finance challenges and objectives for PE-backed entities into actionable transformation strategies.
• Establish engagement strategies, outline workplans, and align workstreams with financial goals and investment theses.
• Identify underlying issues, address challenges, and develop financial infrastructure for sustainable success.
• Direct simultaneous post-acquisition integration and exit-preparation projects.
• Ensure the quality and defensibility of deliverables while making technical judgment decisions.
• Spearhead change management in finance and accounting.
• Expedite month-end closing processes and enhance financial reporting.
• Address technical accounting issues, including ASC 606, ASC 842, complex transactions, and carve-out accounting.
• Enhance cash flow visibility, controls, and management practices.
• Construct reporting and KPI frameworks.
• Oversee post-acquisition integration efforts, including COA harmonization, system consolidation, and team evaluation/design.
• Prepare businesses for exit strategies and readiness for sell-side engagements.
• Recruit, structure capacity, nurture talent, and provide constructive feedback.
• Develop the FAAS practice, refine delivery methodologies, and create frameworks and intellectual property.
• Present intricate findings to CFOs, PE operating partners, founders, and Boards.
• Advise stakeholders, articulate trade-offs, and facilitate aligned decision-making.
• CPA certification required (active or eligible).
• Over 8 years of progressive experience in Big 4 FAAS, PE-backed controllership or CFO advisory, top-tier consulting, or corporate finance leadership.
• Extensive experience in middle-market settings undergoing significant transformation.
• Proven expertise in close transformation, technical accounting (ASC 606/842/805), cash and working capital management, M&A integration, and exit preparation.
• Strong command of US GAAP, PE-specific accounting (normalization, carve-outs), and ERP/system frameworks.
• In-depth understanding of middle-market finance functions, including cash-to-accrual migrations, first-time audits, QuickBooks-to-ERP transitions, close process redesign, and financial infrastructure development.
• Willingness to travel 20 to 30% for engagement kickoffs and firm meetings.
• Exceptional executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills with PE Partners, CEOs, CFOs, and Boards.
• Capability to design and manage workplans across organizational change.
• Ability to navigate competing priorities from sponsors, management, and technical teams.
• Proficiency in building teams, hiring, developing talent, structuring capacity, and refining methodologies and playbooks.
