Director, Enterprise Planning & Portfolio Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the planning and investment cadence for enterprise technology, aligning strategic priorities, demand, economics, risk, and capacity into a cohesive plan.

• Define criteria for prioritization, implement investment governance practices, and establish decision frameworks for consistent enterprise trade-offs.

• Supervise capacity and scenario planning to outline sequencing options, constraints, and implications.

• Facilitate business-case enablement, financial and resource-sizing inputs, planning assumptions, and commitment baselines.

• Maintain a proactive demand pipeline and initiate replanning in response to significant changes in conditions.

• Oversee active management of technology portfolios, ensuring strategic alignment, health, investment performance, capacity constraints, systemic risk, and inter-initiative dependencies.

• Formulate recommendations to expedite, rebalance, sequence, defer, pause, or halt initiatives.

• Establish governance and reporting practices focused on decision-oriented portfolio management.

• Lead and mentor Portfolio Managers.

• Link portfolio insights with Program Execution and Enterprise Transformation.

• Ensure that leaders receive timely, dependable, and forward-looking insights regarding demand, investment, capacity, execution performance, risk, and value.

• Define common portfolio metrics, analytical definitions, and management information standards.

• Convert trends, constraints, concentration risks, and performance exceptions into executive insights and actionable strategies.

• Set the direction for enterprise-scale PPM infrastructure, encompassing taxonomy, data standards, workflows, dashboards, integrations, and automation.

• Maintain a prioritized PPM roadmap while enhancing data quality, usability, and adoption.

• Minimize manual portfolio administration through technology, automation, and AI-driven capabilities.

• Lead a streamlined, multi-disciplinary organization, including Portfolio Managers, Enterprise Planning & Investment leadership, analysts, and senior PPM/tooling experts.

• Influence senior leaders in Technology, Product, Finance, and across a matrixed environment.

• Own the comprehensive management capability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of progressive experience in enterprise portfolio management, technology planning, investment management, strategy, business operations, or related fields, with substantial leadership roles.

• Proven experience in managing a large and complex technology or transformation portfolio within a scaled enterprise environment.

• Demonstrated expertise in investment prioritization, portfolio governance, capacity and scenario planning, resource allocation, and executive decision support.

• Established capability to advance portfolio management organizations from mere reporting and administration to proactive portfolio leadership.

• Strong financial and business acumen; ability to distill complex data into clear recommendations for executives.

• Experience in leading teams and enhancing PPM processes, data, tools, and automation.

• Must possess work authorization that does not currently or in the future require visa sponsorship in the Employing Country.
